Scrummaster / Account Manager
+

Position: Scrummaster

Description:
Mad Mobile is growing fast and our agile account management team is looking for a Scrummaster/account manager to join them in managing software development projects on behalf of external clients and partners. You might not necessarily know what a scrum-master is, but that's okay. If you have the qualities we are looking for we'll train you up and turn you into a great one.

You may currently be working as a project manager or account manager, preferably on a series of fast-moving projects for external clients in a creative field such as software development, design, education, arts. You enjoy acting as a bridge between clients and creatives, and you thrive on solving problems. You enjoy taking responsibility for making sure things get done and you are an expert at negotiating solutions to problems that leave most people mainly happy.

At Mad you will be responsible for managing the development, launch and support of world-class mobile websites and applications. You will work as a key part of our Agile/Scrum team, leading the daily stand ups for our small teams of developers, and working with clients to get obstacles out of their way. You don't need a lot of technical knowledge but you need to be smart enough to pick up what we do and translate technical problems into language that clients understand. You also need to be able to work with a client on their requirements, and follow that through from when contracts are signed to the delivery of the project 6-12 weeks later. It's a lot of fun, not at all the usual painful account manager experience of placating permanently disappointed and annoyed clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the deployment and support of mobile websites and mobile apps.
  • Gather requirements and drive the project plan for software launches and updates.
  • Run the daily scrum/stand-up for your projects.
  • Work with the client to set up the user stories/specifications for the project as a whole
  • Help the client order the user stories/specifications for each two-week sprint.
  • Work closely with client's product managers, marketing managers and technical contacts to ensure solutions meet customers' needs and business goals.
  • Work in the gap between the client and the development team, helping each to help the other get the job done brilliantly and on time.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with technical teams.
  • Stay current with mobile trends and best practices.

Requirements

  • Positive attitude to managing projects. Resilience when things don't go quite to plan.
  • Natural ability to coordinate teams, including remote and external groups.
  • At least a passing interest in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, iOS, and Android.
  • Flexibility, and particularly a willingness to learn the skills of the Scrum-master and Product Owner in the Scrum framework.
  • Eye for good user experience and design.
  • Skilled problem solver and troubleshooter with the ability to identify potential issues early on and resolve them.
  • Sense of urgency, ownership and results driven approach to your work.
  • Extremely well organized with excellent presentation, verbal, and written communications skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience in an e-commerce and mobile development environment
  • Agile and/or Scrum experience - certification as a scrum-master and/or product owner would be awesome.
  • Familiarity with Basecamp and spreadsheets.
  • Previous experience of Assembla, Git, and Scrum tools
  • Web analytics experience.
